But life did not give him much time. My father passed away, and I was a child no older than six—one of seven children, the eldest of whom was no more than ten. My mother was left alone with seven young children.

At a time when we should have found safety and protection from those closest to my father… the exact opposite happened. After his death, we did not lose only a father… everything he had built over the years of his life was lost: his factories… his shops… his gold… and his wealth.

More painful than losing all of that was the fact that those whose hands reached for what my father had left were not strangers… they were among the people closest to him, from his own blood—the very people who should have supported his children after his death. We lost our father… and we lost everything he had left us. But something remained that no hand could take away: his name… his story… and the roots.

The years passed, his seven children grew up, and each one followed a different path… but one of them returned to his father's path. That was me. I did not inherit his factory. I did not inherit his shops. I did not inherit his gold or his wealth. Yet the older I became, and the more I learned about his story, the more I discovered that I was the son most like him on this path…

The same passion for gold, the same courage in business, and the same desire to create something that had never existed before. It was as though the man I lost when I was six had left something of himself inside me, waiting all these years to appear again.

So I began as well… but from below zero. I did not continue my father's fortune… I began building my own fortune and my own story. From there, Tabarek Jewellery was born… followed by Tabarek Zero and the idea of Zero Making Charges, and then the Dream Card.

Just as my father tried in his time to change the way gold was manufactured through technology… I tried in my time to change the way gold was traded through an idea. Today, more than four decades later, I return to Italy… to the land where my father once stood in search of the future of gold manufacturing. But I return today carrying his name and his story, as well as a name I built myself from below zero: Tabarek.

May God have mercy on you, Father, Haider Ghadhban Al-Atbi… They took the factories, they took the shops, and they took the gold and the wealth… but they could not take the roots. After all these years… those roots appeared again in one of your sons. I am the son of those roots… and I am their continuation. This is not merely a success story… these are the roots of Tabarek Jewellery.
